Rubio just announced he will run to keep his Senate seat.

Of course he did, you can’t be a career politician if you walk away. And he also knows private industry has no job that would give him so much.

He knows the days of riding in limos, followed by press, having his face and words in news and being called Mr Senator would be over. The lofty days of taxpayer financed travel and staff would be over.

The barrage of calls begging his attention and approval from those seeking favors would be over. He knows the easy street and invites to grand galas would be over. He knows the champagne and lobster on the Potomac would be served to another while he faded to obscurity in private industry where his income and success depended upon achievements.

Who walks away from that with the promise of an insane benefit package and pension program that will give millions to him regardless of whether he does a good job or not?

Who walks away when America treats you like royalty we were never supposed to have in a lucrative career that was supposed to be a temporary job?

Who walks away when a complacent nation is willing to let elected officials serve themselves while cashing in like bandits?

Who walks away from the new American dream of luxury and fame in DC to risk failure among us citizens working with so many obstacles to the old American dream?
