Conservatism: No Home for Patriots

I was a conservative when they were Constitutional Patriots focused on conserving our basic American principles. Since that time parties and their loyal media partners have altered their course and conservatives today fight to save the GOP instead of our nation and future. They have lost their way and have become ineffective bystanders in a system they have no impact on. Now I hear voters discussing whether a candidate is conservative enough or a “true conservative.” Who cares? When was the last time a conservative remained loyal, accomplished anything, led a major protest or scored a significant win in DC?

They lost our school system, lost control of our economy and debt, failed in military and foreign policies, failed to slow liberalism or socialism, contributed to growth of government, regulations and debt, failed to control immigration and borders, failed to stand against Obama purging our top military officers, failed to preserve American manufacturing, failed to prosecute or demand justice for any scandalous lawbreakers from Bill Clinton, to Fast & Furious, to the IRS scandal, to Benghazi, to Hillary exposing state secrets, failed to obtain records on Obama’s early life, failed to rein in campaign donor corruption or voter fraud at the polls, and I could go on and on and on. Conservatives have been nothing but failures because their first loyalty is to a GOP that doesn’t even want them. That is just flat stupid so do not tell me a candidate must be a more conservative to have value, find me one significant conservative victory first then we can talk.

I want Constitutional Patriots who are bold enough to fight and win, not more decades of losses from caving conservatives who can only bend across the aisle and produce excuses for failing. Conservatives fail because they only pay attention to the parts of our Constitution that candidates use to keep them on the plantation.

What troubles me the most about current conservatives is they say they value and uphold our founding principles and Constitution then abandon both. They leave out the part where People are to hold control instead of parties. They ignore the many dire warnings from Founders who told us to replace parties or 2 bad ones would become entrenched, serve themselves and destroy our nation.

They ignore the fact early Americans demanded and got a Bill of Rights so we could destroy and replace corrupt parties and leaders instead of submitting as Americans do now.

They forget Franklin said we had a republic–“If we could keep it” because Franklin knew parties always try to steal republics from the People.

They say the honor our past heroes who sacrificed and stood their ground while conservatives sacrifice nothing and remain steadfastly loyal to a GOP they readily admit is corrupt. There is no honor or patriotism in that.

They complain of lawless government and the GOP caving to opposition demands then they refuse to do anything more than elect more GOP officials. Their plan for success is to keep repeating decades of failure. Goldwater in 1964 was the beginning of modern conservatism trying to recapture the GOP. In 1976 Reagan reaffirmed that we should save the GOP because there wasnt time to start another party, vote GOP or Democrats win! Forty years after Reagan said it conservative voters have not learned the strategy has failed them. While they mock Democrats for doubling down on failure they lose to Democrats by clinging to failure for forty straight years.

Just what part of our founding principles and constitutional duty do conservatives practice? I don’t see any of it surviving in their actions. As I write this there are well organized protests taking place in New York and Arizona. Both were organized and manned by liberal/socialists using their constitutional rights of activism and assembly to make their positions known, when do conservatives use the same rights to fight back? They don’t. The bad guys donate to foundations and organizations and you see the results play out on the news with bused in protestors quickly mobilized carrying professionally printed signs and unified behind common messages.

Conservatives donate to organizations and foundations whose elites draw huge salaries and do nothing. How is that wise? Conservatives praise syndicated national radio hosts parroting their words, buying their books and donating to their crony’s causes and get nothing back for the effort. Conservatives offer donations and support that make a few at the top wealthy but they never get any results, so they keep doing it. Conservatives can see that liberalism has changed drastically over a few decades but they have no ability to see that conservatism has changed, abandoned principles and become useless.

Only 2 groups of American voters give 95% of their support to a party that uses them and betrays them; Black Democrats and conservative Republicans. Conservatives vote for people they don’t like, from a GOP that despises them and has backstabbed them for decades then they bemoan the fact they are not represented. Why would they expect to be represented? They vote against themselves for decades on the lost dream of taking back a party our Founders designed our Constitution to defeat.

Conservatives today commit voter suicide because it is easier to pretend some miracle will come along and do what they refuse to do themselves. They know the GOP does not want them but they stay anyway then wonder why they have no impact. They pick and choose which parts of our Constitution to uphold and which to ignore. A candidate can step forward, claim they are a constitutionalist so conservatives blindly follow because few still know what is in our Constitution. Point out basics about our Constitution that prove they are backing a fraud and they readily ignore our Constitution so they can maintain support for their latest GOP messiah. They are used, cast aside then line up like ducks in a shooting gallery to be used again, for more than forty straight years.

This is nearly identical to the abused spouse syndrome. Conservatives remember the good early years when the GOP shared their dreams. Now that the GOP has cheated on them for decades they refuse to leave the marriage because they spent their lives dedicated to it and leaving creates a scary future of new beginnings. They are more comfortable living a future of predictable abuse than standing strong and acting to do the right thing. Maybe if they just love the GOP more and keep on trying the abuse will eventually stop and the GOP will return the love, the perfect victims.

The last major conservative action I can recall where our Constitution was defended and enforced was back in the 70’s when Democrat conservatives united their side to force Nixon our over his scandals. They spoke frequently of Constitution, duty and justice and they rallied the People in support. They won and a bad president was busted and removed. Compare that to the pansy conservative wimps we have today like Cruz, Gowdy, Lee and Ryan who talk much of lawlessness and corruption in DC then cower from attacking it and forcing Obama out for much worse acts than Nixon ever took part in. These modern conservatives are nothing but whiny losers with no fight in them.

Conservative voters are merely being used as pawns to save the GOP and we should not be trying to save an entrenched corrupt party. We should stand as honest patriots without delusions and use our Constitution to demand justice, representative government and our birthright to own and control our own process. While conservatives profess to honor our Founders vision they sit and watch the dream destroyed by two parties our Founders never even heard of.

Submitting because it is easy or excuses are convenient is not patriotism. It is surrender. You vote GOP if you can excuse it, I will walk my talk with my fellow patriots who stand on their word. The New World Order crowd has won and needs your GOP/Democrat Coalition vote to cement their success.

Patriotism is action, not compliance and excuses.

We need a new party; anything else is caving on basic founding principles.

F. Lynn Vogel is an Iowa native, father and lifelong patriotic historian. Raised as the son of two well-informed historians he immersed himself in the small family library one room of their home was dedicated to. As an adult most of his work was in manufacturing and product development which then led to consulting and restructuring manufacturing companies struggling in a changing global economic environment. It was there he followed his fathers footsteps into writing and radio work but with a focus on historical aspects of our politics, founding and Constitution which he had studied while getting his formal business training. He is now dedicated to restoring the constitutional greatness of America for future generations, in honor of those who provided so much for us.

  1. I totally agree with this article and would simply add = Now that the establishment GOP and RNC are conspiring to create their own 3rd Party because they are terrified of Trump, let’s do ALL we can to push them in that direction and then we can “inherit” the shell of the present GOP – faster and less pain that way in my opinion
